While many of us continue to be sequestered to our homes during COVID-19, it can be easy fall into some less-than-healthy habits. Boredom can strike and weather can force us indoors to sit in front of our televisions, play video games and decrease our physical activity. When we lower our physical activity and increase chair or couch time, this can lead to unhealthy results. March’s hot health topic is...getting ready for physical activity/exercising at home! During these unprecedented times, we Physical Education teachers encourage everyone to stay active and to continue exercising at home. As a part of our "Distance Learning Adventure," your child will be participating in daily workout challenges via Schoology. We hope that although your child may not be able to participate in large group sports at this time, they can still stay active, healthy, fit and happy thanks in some part, to these daily workouts. Can you still be active and have fun outdoors when the temperature drops?  YES YOU CAN! We as Minnesotans are hardy people and can thrive in the bitter cold but we also must make sure we are safe. Conditions at times can be icy and wind chills can become dangerous but this should not limit us getting outside and being active. Knowing when it is safe for your students to be outside and when it is not is a great lesson to teach. Then, encourage your children to get outside and have some fun while being active!! Chall
