While many of us continue to be sequestered to our homes during COVID-19, it can be easy
fall into some less-than-healthy habits. Boredom can strike and weather can force us indoors
to sit in front of our televisions, play video games and decrease our physical activity. When
we lower our physical activity and increase chair or couch time, this can lead to unhealthy
results. It's easy to reach for that bag of chips or make that huge batch of chocolate chip
cookies to enjoy. We must practice HEALTHY SNACKING!!
Things to talk about with your child about healthy snacking...
- What snacks do you currently offer for your family?
- What does your child enjoy snacking on? Are they willing to try new snacks?
- Snack portions: Putting snacks into bowls is a healthy choice.
- Cutting up vegetables and fruits can help encourage us to eat them.
